You know when you come across that piece of fruit or food that you’d give anything to have again? Scottsdale farmers markets are where you find that kind of mouth-watering fruit, produce, and food. There are two markets in Scottsdale for you to enjoy: The Old Town Farmers’ Market (re-opens Oct. 25) is Scottsdale’s oldest running farmers’ market, and the North Scottsdale Farmers’ Market, which recently introduced an evening, indoor market. Here are some of the locally grown, awesomely good foods you’ll find at each of these markets.
Singh Farms: Not your traditional farmers market, Singh Farms is a secret even to Scottsdale natives. Blanketed in shade from towering trees, Singh Farms is one of the best spots to buy locally grown produce and also to spend a relaxing Saturday morning. Grab a bite to eat or a fresh squeezed juice as well!Be sure to check this gem out on Saturday’s.
Old Town Farmers Market: Right in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale is one of locals favorite farmers markets. McClendon Farms is a big part of the market, and always draws a big crowd. With plenty of local jams, honey, and pastries, don’t forget to bring your sweet tooth as well.

Arizona Fall League returns this October and promises some of the best prospects since Mike Trout and Bryce Harper rolled through town. 25 of MLB.com’s top 100 prospects will be suiting up in Arizona this fall, headlined by Byron Buxton, Corey Seager, and Addison Russell.
Byron Buxton: Second year attendee Byron Buxton looks to get over a forgettable season in 2014 that was riddled with injuries. The 2014 Fall League provides the perfect platform for Buxton to get back on track. This is still the same guy who was one of the highest rated prospects ever and drew comparisons to Ken Griffey Jr. Don’t be surprised if he puts up big numbers this go around. See him suit up for the Salt River Rafters at Salt River Fields.
Corey Seager: One of the best prospects in the Major Leagues, Seager looks to be the Dodgers shortstop of the future. Standing at 6′ 4″ and 215 pounds, he’s Troy Tulowitzki-esque in size and power. Hitting 50 doubles to go along with 20 home runs last year in both A+ and AA, the power potential is there. Seager could make the jump to the big leagues next year if he keeps producing and looks to hone his skills this fall with the Glendale Desert Dogs.
Addison Russell: For a third straight year, Addison Russell returns to Arizona this fall and this time, with the Chicago Cubs. Russell came over to the Cubs in a blockbuster trade that sent Chicago ace, Jeff Samardzija, to the Oakland A’s. After being traded, Russell put up solid numbers for the Cubs AA team and hopes to carry that over into the fall, as well as next year. He remains a high prospect at the SS position and could break the into the Majors next year if anything happens to Chicago Cubs SS, Starlin Castro.
The Scottsdale Scorpions weren’t shorthanded with their roster assignments. Mason Williams, Alen Hanson, Kyle Crick, and Tyler Austin are all in the top 100 prospects according to MLB.com. Jump on the bandwagon early with this year’s Arizona Fall Ball prospects, they’ll be MLB All-Stars in a couple years. While you’re out choosing your future favorite player, have some fun outside of the stadium in Scottsdale this fall.
