The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Ohio State Buckeyes face off in this year’s Fiesta Bowl. The Fiesta Bowl remains one of the big 6 bowl games and attracts two of the best teams in the country. Notre Dame had to overcome numerous injuries this season, including one to starting quarterback Malik Zaire early in the season. Backup quarterback stepped into the spotlight and shined, leading the Fighting Irish to a 9-2 record with the two losses by a combined total of four points. Ohio State finished the season 10-1 with it’s only loss coming against College Football Playoff bound Michigan State. Had the Buckeyes not lost on a last second field goal that game, they would be in line to defend last seasons National Championship.
