The sporting event of tacos is back and it’s spicier than ever! In its 6th year, the Arizona Taco Festival is ready to literally “bring the heat” to the Valley of the Sun. More than 50 restaurants, caterers, amateurs, bars and nightclubs are preparing to serve up their best tacos and compete in the largest competition and celebration of the year. With a $10,000 cash prize on the line, it’s sure to be one hot competition.

On October 17 and 18, make your way out to Salt River Fields and let the smell of savory Mexican food fill the air around you. Be sure to come hungry because there are more than 100 types of tacos to choose from. Did I mention that tacos are only $2? That’s right, $2 chicken, pork, beef, seafood, veggie and dessert tacos available everywhere you turn. Some of the Valley’s hottest restaurants, including Blanco Tacos & Tequila, Cien Agaves, Hacienda’s Mexican Grill, and  Wasted Grain, are preparing to dish out more than 100,000 total tacos. So grab a score-card, pick up an icy margarita and start searching for that taco that makes your mouth water.

Whether you’re listening to the sounds of live surf and salsa music at the main stage, sampling 100 different types of tequila at the Tequila Expo Tent or watching Lucha Libre wrestling, you’re sure to have a great time as the festival rages on all weekend long. The Arizona Taco Festival is believed to be the world’s first event of its kind, and the Valley’s fastest growing culinary celebration. Don’t miss out on this tasty event – it’s sure to make your taste buds tingle.
