Heard Museum World Champion Hoop Dance Contest February 8-9, 2014 Experience the fast-paced precision and grace of hoop dancing as more than 70 of the top Native dancers from the United States and Canada compete for cash prizes and the World Champion title. Each day starts with a grand entry of all the dancers, with competition heating up with every round. Enjoy fry bread and the museum’s café. Event admission includes the museum’s 10 exhibition galleries. Parada Del Sol Parade February 8, 2014 The Annual Parada del Sol Parade marches up Scottsdale Road from Oak Street to Indian School Road, showcasing hundreds of talented horses and riders, floats and musicians. After the parade, join the Trail’s End Celebration in Old Town Scottsdale (First Ave. between Brown and Scottsdale roads). This huge block party features live music, delicious food, pony rides and games. It’s Western-style fun for the whole family! Arizona Fine Art Expo January 16 – March 30, 2014 Visit more than 100 artists in a working-studio environment! The Arizona Fine Art EXPO also includes the Café de EXPO, where you can sit indoors surrounded by working artists, or outdoors in a sculpture garden filled with contemporary, abstract and traditional bronze, copper, clay, mixed-media and natural-stone African sculptures. Celebration of Fine Art January 11 — March 23, 2014 The Celebration of Fine Art gives you the opportunity to meet 100 working artists under one roof. Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show February 13 – 23, 2014 Since 1955, the annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show has set the pace in the Arabian horse world. The show has grown from 50 horses to more than 2,000, bringing top owners, trainers and breeders from around the world to compete for a chance to win. The show also offers an international food court and a shopping expo where you can find products from art, jewelry and clothing to household items and show apparel.
