Calling All Film Buffs!

film-festival

Lights. Camera. Action! The Scottsdale International Film Festival is back for its 15th year and it promises you an exciting adventure into the world of filmmaking. This year’s festival will showcase 41 feature films representing more than 30 countries, including buzz-worthy dramas, thrillers, romances, comedies and documentaries.

The festival will kick off on Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. The opening-night celebration will feature the documentary “Landfill Harmonic,” which tells the inspiring story of Paraguay’s Recycled Orchestra of Cateura, the world-famous youth symphony that performs with instruments made from recycled trash. After the film, movie-goers will be able to see the Recycled Orchestra perform onstage and participate in an audience Q-and-A session.

After opening night, the festival returns to its longtime home at Harkins Shea 14 Theater in Scottsdale. With its stellar lineup of films featuring Academy Award-winning directors and actors, this year’s festival is one you don’t want to miss. Catch the Arizona premieres of “The Adderall Diaries” starring award winning actors James Franco and Ed Harris; “Hitchcock/Truffaut” directed by Academy Award winner Martin Scorsese; “Love the Coopers” starring John Goodman and Diane Keaton; and many more!
